From June 8-9, 2024 are dates set for return of Masters Hockey League in Mombasa. The vibrant coastal city of Mombasa will host the revival of the iconic Masters Hockey League tournament through the Mombasa County Hockey Association. This event promises to be a spectacular display of sportsmanship, skill and camaraderie among Kenya’s finest senior field hockey athletes aged 35 years and above.
Recap of the Previous Tournament
In the last edition held in Nakuru, Parkroad claimed victory in the finals against Impala, culminating a competition involving 10 teams total. This established tradition of mastery among Kenya’s veteran players will be on full display once more.
A Celebration of Community through Sport
While competition will be intense on the pitch, organizers envision this event first and foremost as a celebration of the enduring passion for the game and sense of shared experience linking players across regions. Teams from Kisumu, Nakuru, Kakamega and Nairobi are expected to converge in Mombasa.

Spectators can look forward to thrilling matches, meeting these inspiring athletes, and appreciating what their prowess and decades of contributions have meant for hockey in Kenya. As Mariano Emadau, the MCHA Treasurer and one of the tournament organizers: “Be sure to mark your calendars and join us in supporting these remarkable players in Mombasa!”
