Nandi Hawks made their debut in the National Hockey scene with a win against their name. Hawks under the watchful eye of Emmanuel Cheruiyot, started their Super League promotion campaign beating their opponents The University of Eldoret by three goals to one.
Just 4 minutes into the game, Hawks made their intentions of snatching points from Eldoret, and by the end of the 60 minutes, they lived up to their expectation.
In the other Western zone match, Blue Pirates picked themselves up and got to winning ways. The Pirates managed a solitary goal against visiting Bay in their match played at the Kaimosi Friends Univesity College.
In another much-anticipated match of the day, Butali announced their title intentions clear to all teams by beating great rivals Greensharks by three straight goals. Ademba, Wakhura, and Onyango were on the score sheet for the sugar millers in the last match of the day. In the ladies category, Strathmore Scorpions bagged maximum points in their encounter against Wolverines in the ladies’ Premier League match of the day.
In the other matches of the day, Parklands Hockey Club managed to snatch a point from their hosts Multimedia University in their Super League match, Karate Axiom beat Nairobi Chapel by a solitary goal while Gorillas shared the spoils against Thika based Thika Rovers.
Sunday will see Parkroad Tigers host KCA, Nairobi Chapel Ladies host UoN Ladies, JKUAT Men host Parklands, USIU-A Ladies host Blazers while their counterparts USIU-A men play to Wazalendo in a bid to lift the 2022 men’s premier league title
