It’s 2 in 2 for the Kakamega based side DTE Western Jaguars against Strathmore University in the men 2022 KHU Premier League. Jaguars recovered from a draw on Saturday against USIU-A and got back to winning. After narrowly edging out the Meshack Senge led side a few weeks ago in Kakamega, the Michael Malungu led side was out to stamp authority in the match and take home bragging rights. DTE Western Jaguars ensured their trip to the Capital was not in vain sounding the board 5 times to Strathmore’s 2.
Edson Ndombi and Conrad Khafwafwa were on the score sheet twice as Bethuel Masambu netted one. On the Gladiators’ side, Ogenche Brian and Alusa Keith responded with a piece each.
“As our coach said in an interview sometime back, we take a match at a time and that is what we are doing. Despite loosing a lead comfortable lead, you can see the energetic young men rose to the occasion. We are going for a tough assignment but we are up to the task.” Said one of the team officials.
Jaguars host Kenya Police in a match that will be a 2nd position battle.
In the only Ladies Premier League match, USIU-A Ladies aspiration of moving up the ladder were delt a blow when they were held to a 2 all draw when they hosted DFG Wolverines. Rhoda Kuria and Perez Akinyi were on target for USIU while Electine Munchi and Jane Nderi were on target for DFG Wolverines.
In the Super League matches played, KU Vultures shared points against Wazalendo Masters after registering a 1-1 draw. Timothy Juma and willy Mutual were on target for KU and Wazalendo respectively.
Ladies on the other hand KU Ladies trounced Nairobi Chapel ladies by 5 goals to nil.
In another match, KCA took home maximum points against Parklands with a 2-1 win. Brian Magina netted a brace for KCA while Allan Odongo got a consolation for Parklands.
UoN beat Daystar University by a solitary goal netted by Bakasa Hillary. While promotion hopefuls Kitale Hockey beat Nandi Hawks by the same margin with skipper Miller John scoring.
