Naomi Kemunto Scores a Brace for Blades B; Wazalendo Veterans trounce Impala Veterans

Naomi Kemunto scored a brace for the national ladies’ side, Blades B on day 1 of the KHU Easter Tournament as 10 matches were played. Blades B now is top of the ladies’ Pool C. Kemunto scored in the 9th and 19th minutes of the game.

In the other Pool C ladies’ games, Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) beat Jomo Kenyatta University (JKUAT) 1-0. The lone goal for MSC was scored by Mercy Cheptoo in the 5th minute. Under 21 side, rising Blades held the senior side Blades A 0-0 in the last Pool C game of the day.

Veterans Pool

Wazalendo Veterans came from a goal down to beat their Impala counterparts 2-1. Humphery Kimuyu scored the opener in the 4th minute of the game. Wazalendo’s captain, Kevin Kuria leveled the scores in the 11th minute. In the 24th minute, Isaac Muchiri added the 2nd goal for the Mombasa road veterans.

Men’s Pool

Emmanuel Masika scored the lone goal for Ngong road-based team Impala over JKUAT in the 20th minute of the game in Pool A category. National team side Chui A drew with University of Nairobi 0-0 in the 2nd game and Wazalendo. Chui A defeated Wazalendo 2-0 in their 2nd match. Richard Njuki and George Mutira scored in the 3rd and 6th minutes of the game.

Kenya Police lead in Pool B after winning their 2 matches today. Police beat Thika Rovers and Wazalendo 1-0 respectively. Samuel Oungo converted a penalty corner against Thika Rovers in the 9th minute. Brian Saina scored the solitary goal in the 14th minute in the 2nd win against Wazalendo Masters.

National team side Chui B won against the Under 21 side Rising Chuis 1-0 courtesy of Francis Kariuki in the 25th minute.
