
Strathmore Scorpions continued dominance in the ladies Premier League as 6 matches we played in Nairobi and Mombasa.
Premier League
The Scorpions came from behind to deny their university counterparts USIU 3 points after USIU were 1st to score in the 8th minute courtesy of Perez Akinyi. USIU continued to dominate and it looked like they were the 1st team to defeating them this season. Things took a turn after a pep talk with their coach Meshack Senge at halftime as Tamunai Kipsang managed to level the score 3 minutes into the 2nd half. This gave them life and they made several attempts at goal. With 6 minutes to go, Grace Bwire added the 2nd goal for the Scorpions a goal they held onto till the end.
In the other University men’s Premier League, Strathmore Gladiators and USIU Mashujaa shared points in the last match of Mashujaa Day.
Super League
Cementine Sim scored a brace in the seventh and 15th minutes while Christine Mukami scored on 25 minutes to give University of Nairobi (UoN) a win against Multimedia University (MMU).
In the men’s category, KCA University ‘Wazito’ beat technical University of Kenya (TUK) 7-4 in a high paced match played at City Park in Nairobi. Graham Otieno scored a brace for TUK while Moses Obushuru and Bradley Wawire scored the other goals. Arnold Marango scored a double hatrick for Wazito side with Brian Magina, Kevin Omulama, and Grant Nyongesa scoring a goal each.
National League
Brian Simotwo, and Cecil Asuna’s 33rd 48th minute goals respectively gave UoN the all important goal as they faced Impala at Strathmore University Grounds. Dismas Kimtai scored the lone goal for Impala in the 28th minute through a penalty corner conversion.
In Mombasa, Daikyo Heroes drew 0-0 with Mombasa West in the other Eastern Zone League match of the day.
