Scorpions come from behind to share spoils with defending champs Blazers.

Strathmore Scorpions came from down to share points in their derby against defending champs Blazers on Sunday.

Premier League

The Derby started Strathmore dominating the game. Blazers got their 1st chance to the D, 4 minutes to the end of 1st quarter but could not make good use of it.

Barbara Simiyu coming into the game in the 19th minute changed things for Blazers as they had not made many attempts at the goalkeeper. In the 43rd minute things changed as Barbara managed to convert a Penalty Corner. It was the Scorpions turn to now level up scores and in the Jeriah Onsare’s 57th minute penalty conversion was all the university side to share points with Blazers but maintain their slot at the top.

Lakers finished the weekend with 6 points after beating Sliders by a solitary goal courtesy of Aurelia Opondo in the 45th minute.

Strathmore Gladiators’ Brian Ogenche’s 40th minute penalty stroke conversion past Allan Kaseuna is all they needed to secure 3 points against Parkroad Badgers.

Super League

KU men beat Kisumu Youngstars at home by a solitary goal. Richard Abudi scored for the university side in the 36th minute. JKUAT Wildcats also secured a 1-0 win against their university counterparts TUK courtesy of Cyrus Warui 51st minute. Wazalendo Masters drew 2-2 in a highly charged match which had to be stopped for a while because of discipline issues. Willy Mutua and, Chris Kwama scored for the Masters in the 21st and 46th minutes respectively. Veteran player William Oketch and, Paul Gumbe scored for the Tigers in 34th and 49th minutes respectively.

UoN Vigilantes’ captain Clementine Sims scored her 3rd goal this weekend and her 5th in a span 4 days as they beat JKUAT 2-1 in a match played at City Park. Cynthia Ejai scored the opener for the vigilantes in the 3rd minute of the game. in the 49th minute JKUAT were awarded a penalty stroke and Lucky Adhiambo leveled scores for her side. A minute to go Clementine added a second goal for UoN.

National League

Only 2 out of the 3 National league matches were played as Karate were a no show to play against UoN and hence they were given a walkover. Bay Club drew 0-0 with their visitors Blue Pirates. Kitale lost 1-2 to University of Eldoret (UoE) in Kitale. David Mbagaya scored the lone goal for Kitale in the 36th minute while Newton Juma and, Ambrose Wanjala scored for UoE in 44 and 51st minutes of the game respectively.
