USIU-A this afternoon prevailed over Western Jaguars in Kakamega for a second time. Brian Kiplimo scored the all-important goal for Makwapa in the 40th minute to grant them 3 points away.
In another premier league match played in Nairobi, Strathmore Gladiators defeated Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) 4-3. This is a match that has so far recorded the highest number of goals so far in the 2022 KHU League. Strathmore got the opener in the 23rd minute through Basil Wafula but the victory didn’t last long. Seconds later, Kevin Momanyi equalised for MSC.
7 minutes later Carson Oluoch got the Gladiators ahead seconds before the halftime buzzer went off. Charles Abongo converted a penalty shot 4 minutes into the 2nd half. 5 minutes later, Ongeche Brian put Gladiators ahead again and added a 2nd one in the 53rd minute making the score 4-2. With 3 minutes to the final whistle, Omondi scored the 3rd goal for MSC.
In the last premier league match, Greensharks drew 1-1 with sailors for the 2nd time in their last 6 encounters. Christopher Mathenge of Greensharks scored in the 48th minute with Johnstone Indiazi scoring the equalizer against his former club in the 54th minute.
MSC won their 1st match against Nairobi Chapel 2-1. Winfred Mbite scored the opener for Chaplites in the 26th minute but the victory was short-lived as Alice Jokeyo evened up the score 2 minutes later. She sealed MSC victory in the 42nd minute.
Vikings drew 0-0 with Multimedia University in the 2nd ladies’ super league match of the day.
In Kisumu, Wazalendo Masters were beaten 2-1 by Kisumu Youngstars in a match that was played at Kisumu Simba Club Grounds. Dovan Wanga and David Mokandu scored for Youngstars in the 9th and 15th minutes of the game respectively. Wazalendo’s lone goal was scored by Silas Mwau in the 45th minute of the match.
