Wazalendo Visit to Mariakani Primary School.

Wazalendo Hockey Club will visit Mariakani Primary School in South B on Thursday, 7th September 2023 to bolster the Young Players Development (YPD) Program. The exercise will take place at 3 PM and will see young girls and boys join clubs academy establishment and begin their hockey journey.

Wazalendo Hockey Club and Mariakani Primary School have had a longstanding relationship and partnership that spans back over 13 years, with some of the alumni like Sila Mwau, Esther Mongare, Caroline Mutunga among many others having completed their university education and are at the entry of their work careers. More of the alumni are still with the club in various levels of their hockey and academic journeys.

The club believes in using sports to drive social transformation among communities. As a result, this step to bolster the academy will see the recruits join past and current members who have attained various academic and life milestones through the academy program and hockey activities. The club prides itself in the success of the academy program with some of the members having represented the country at different levels;
