In the men’s premier league, two games were played which featured MSC hosting Kenya police in Mombasa and Sailors battling it out against parkroad badgers at city Park. All matches ended in draws as the match in Mombasa ended goalless while Sailors and Parkroad’s match ended with both teams scoring a goal. Timothy Obonyo scored a PC for sailors while Edwin Agoro scored a field goal for Parkroad. Only one match was played in the ladies premier league as Blazers faced USIU-A ladies at City Park. Both teams shared the points as they drew with no side scoring any goal.
Three matches were played in the men’s super league with two games played at City Park and one match at the Dashmesh hockey stadium. Mvita XI drew with Nakuru Hockey club as both teams got two goals each. Derrick Namayi and Samwel Nandwa scored for Mvita while Eliud macharia and Brian Bazil scored for Nakuru. Parklands Sports club managed to clinch all three points from Kisumu Youngsters after putting three goals past the youngsters’ keeper. Allan Odongo scored a brace for parklands while Hesborn Galinga put the final nail on the coffin. MMU men were beaten by the league leader Sikh Union at the Dashmesh stadium. Davis Wanangwe scored the first goal as Mirman Mudher scored the second. Davis Wanangwe later on completed his brace and third goal for Sikh Union.
The National league had four games played on Saturday with three of the matches being from the eastern zone. Thika rovers lost to varsity side Daystar university narrowly, rovers managed to score two goals from Kevin Singoro and a late goal from Onesmus Chege but it wasn’t enough as Daystar scored three contributed by Anthony Pediram and a brace from Ayub omunyinyi. UoN managed to get all three points from Gorillas as they won three goals to one. Robert Mwangi, George Wekesa and John Kanye scored for UoN as Larry Odhiambo scored a consolation for Gorillas. Impala on the other hand drew with Mombasa West in a goalless match. In the Western zone, the University of Eldoret drew with Blue Pirates as both sides managed to score a goal. UOE’s Emmanuel opened the scoring but their lead short lived as Dickson Masuti scored a PC minutes later.
Sunday
Only two games were played in the men’s premier league as MSC men drew with USIU-A men with both sides not registering any goal. Wazalendo on the other hand registered a big win against Greensharks. Cliff Omari scored a glut as he put five goals past the Greenshark’s goal keeper While Mathew Mutiso scored the sixth. Greensharks only managed to score two consolation goals from Adan Salat and Daniel Obunyasi.
In the super league, TUK lost to travelling side Mvita XI at City Park. Ian Orunga scored for TUK as Bill Olang and Bruce Amenya managed to register Mvita’s comeback. JKUAT also lost to Sikh Union by two goals to nil. Goals from Niman Mudher and Kabir Bhamra sealed JKUAT’s fate. Wazalendo Masters managed to narrowly clinch all points from Kisumu Youngsters as they won by three goals to two. Wazalendo got their goals from Stanley Chege, Sila Mwau and Joab Ondiro while Youngsters got their goals from David Makanoli and Francis Oyugi. Varsity side KU men drew with Parklands Sports club as both sides managed to register two goals during the match. Lesley Katana and Ronny Aguko scored for KU while Oliver Mugasiali and Hezborn Galinga scored for Parklands.
The women’s super league only had one match played in which UoN ladies faced KU ladies at City Park. UoN scored first with a goal from Sharon Oduka but KU ladies registered a comeback with goals from Monica Kitui and Laura Webala.
In the National league, all games were from the Eastern zone as three games were played at Strathmore. UoN men played Mombasa west and they managed to win by two goals to one. Brian Simwoto and Elvis Kiptoo scored for UoN while Maxwel Onyambu scored for Mombasa west. Daystar lost to Nairobi Chapel by a solitary goal scored by Clinton Njeka. On the other hand, Gorillas won against impala by five goals to nil.
