23 goals scored on Saturday as KHU League Resumes.

A total of 23 goals were scored as the Kenya Hockey Union League resumed on Saturday. Winners were Bay Club, Daikyo Heroes, Thika Rovers in the National League, Greensharks, and Parkroad Badgers in the Men’s Premier. Lakers in the Ladies Premier League, Sikh Union, and Wazalendo Masters in the Men’s Super League.

Bay Club has scored the highest number of goals today while Wazalendo Masters registered the fastest goal scored in the shortest time so far in the league which was 14 seconds.

National League

Western Zone

Bay Club won their 1st match this season and registered the highest goals scored today and the National Men’s League so far beating Kisii Falcons 5-0 at home. Geoffrey Odhiambo scored the opener for Bay in the 2nd minute of the game. Valentino Otieno added the 2nd in the 32nd minute and a minute later, Barry Oticha added the 3rd goal. Allan Odongo and Caleb Otieno added more goals in the 52nd, and 58th minutes of the game respectively.

Eastern Zone

Thika Rovers also registered their 1st win this season beating Nairobi Chapel 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Peter Wahome in the 7th minute of the game.

In Mombasa, Daikyo emerged heroes at home defeating Impala 3-2 in a high-tempo game. Farhan Khan scored the opener in the 4th minute and with 3 minutes to the end of the 1st quarter, Tonny Omondi added the 2nd. Impala fought back and got their opener in the 28th minute courtesy of Kevin Mdawida. 6 minutes later, Levis Omondi leveled the scores. This was however for just a minute as Tony Omondi scored the 3rd goal through a Penalty Corner.

Super League

Wazalendo Masters registered the fastest goal scored in 14 seconds of a match courtesy of Chris Kwama who was assisted by James Omondi ‘Omosh’ in their game against TUK which ended 3-1. Davis Mulongo added a second in the 23rd minute. Eric Ochieng added the 3rd in the 29th minute. TUK’s consolation goal was scored by Ike Obado.

Sikh Union Nairobi (Simba) defeated Mvita XI at home 3-0. Harvir Singh scored 2 goals, and Nelson Shiakhale scored 1 in the 32, 57, and 58 minutes of the game.

Premier League Ladies

The Lakers defeated DFG Wolverines 1-0 in the only Ladies Premier played today. Captain Mourine Owiti’s scored the lone goal in the 26th minute.

Premier League Men

Defending champions Butali Warriors shared points in Kakamega with hosts Western Jaguars. In Mombasa, Greensharks registered their 2nd win defeating hosts MSC 2-1. Benson Ochieng scored the opening goal for the sharks in the 9th minute. Mariano Emadau leveled the score in the 22nd minute but in the 44th minute, Wokila Chris added a 2nd for the Sharks.

Back to the capital city, Parkroad got their 2nd win defeating Sailors 1-0. Abraham Korir scored the lone goal in the 39th minute of the game.
