Saturday, June 11, 2022 Preview

Talk of a fun-filled weekend and I will show you where to be and how it will go down. As the first leg of the 2022 season approaches the penultimate stage, a number of mouth-watering matches are scheduled to be played on Saturday and Sunday across the country.

Hockey lovers in the western region are set to be entertained with matches in Kisumu, Kitale, and Kapsabet where Kisumu Youngsters will be hosting Super League title contenders KCA University under the watchful eye of Wilson Otieno and Luke Mbom.

KCA seeking to stamp a statement and boost their premier league hopes high will come guns blazing while the lakeside lads will be out to make a statement of their own. In Nakuru, Nakuru Hockey will host another title contender Sikh Union.

Sikh Union who has had a series of wins under their name will be out to continue with winning ways away in the newest city in Kenya. Parkroad Tigers on their part will square it out with visiting Coastal side Mvita

Kapsabet citizens will also be treated to some hockey action where Nandi Hawks will welcome another lakeside team for a National League Western Zone match.

The hawks who are seeking promotion to the Super League will bring all their arsenal to the match. After losing to Blue Pirates the past weekend, the Hawks will seek to seal the match early.

On the other hand, Bay Club which has had a string of poor results will be seeking to return to winning ways away in Kapsabet. Kitale Hockey Club will host Bungoma Farmers in another National League Western Zone match in Kitale.

Under the tactical eye of Phillip Mwangale and Mutanda Gladson, Farmers will be out to return to winning ways after recording a string of losses in their past matches. Back in the capital, Gorillas will host coastal side Mombasa West, Impala host Thika Rovers while Daystar Falcons play host to struggling Karate Axiom. All the matches will be played at the Strathmore University grounds.

In the only Premier League match of the day, it will be a reignition of a past rivalry where Mombasa Sports Club who have been out of the Premier League for years will be hosting a youthful Western Jaguars side in the capital. MSC who have had mixed results in their past matches will be out to snatch vital points from Jaguars. On their part, Western Jaguars under the tactical eye of Michael Malungu and enjoying a pool of experienced and talented lads will be out to get maximum points from the Coastal side.
