Chebet & Grace Blaze Past Sliders

KHU Premier League defending champions, Blazers Hockey Club started the 2022 season declaring its intentions of making sure the trophy remains in their trophy cabinet.

It however took them 31 minutes to finally get the formula the get the goals past Sliders who had ‘packed the bus’ denying them any chance.

“I told my players posses the ball so that they can find space to execute their game,”

Blazers Coach Josephine Ataro

This finally paid off in the 31st minute by Helena Chebet from a tiki-taka move in the D and got the goal past the Sliders goalie.

Sliders got a chance with 7 minutes to the end of the 3rd quarter when Esther Wacuka hit the ball from defense to Maurine Mumbi upfront but failed to go past Blazers goalie Cynthia Onyango.

Blazers finally managed to pull sliders out of their 25 and converted 2 Penalty Corners in the 54th and 58th both scored by Grace Bwire.

Sliders face USIU-A and Strathmore on 12th and 13th March respectively while Blazers welcome USIU-A on 20th March, at 3 pm at City Park.
