Saturday hockey match previews

December starts with a bang with thrilling matches being scheduled for this weekend. Ten matches are scheduled to be played on Saturday and eight matches to be played on Sunday.

In the men’s premier league, Greensharks will face Western Jaguars at City Park from four o’clock. Jaguar are currently occupying second place in the league while Greensharks are just above the relegation zone at eighth. The highlight of the game will feature league leaders Butali taking on travelling side MSC who are last on the table. Butali will look to continue their incredible unbeaten form while MSC might move from tenth to ninth if they manage to win.

In the men’s super league, JKUAT will face KCAU at City Park from 11 o’clock. KCAU are second on the roster while JKUAT are eighth. KCA are looking forward to reduce the 6 point gap between them and league leaders Sikh union while Jkuat might move up to seventh if they win. In another match, Nakuru hockey club will face Kisumu Youngsters in Nakuru as they aspire to bounce back from their loss to TUK. Youngsters on the other hand might get themselves out of the relegation zone if they manage to win this match. Back at City Park, KU men will face MMU at two. KU are currently third in the roster and will be looking forward to catch up and reduce the gap between them and second placed KCAU. MMU on the other might tie points with 8th placed JKUAT if they win and JKUAT loses their match.

In the ladies super league, MMU will face off against JKUAT as they hope to get themselves out of the last position. Jkuat on the other hand will reduce the 9 point gap between them and MSC if they win.

The men’s national league has four games scheduled to be played today. Kisii falcons will host Bungoma farmers at noon in Kisii while UOE will play Kitale HC in Eldoret from two. UON men will play Nairobi chapel at two thereafter thika rovers play Impala at four. Both these two matches will be played at Strathmore
