Strathmore ladies clinch the Women’s Premier League with two games still to be played. League standings Preview

Men’s Premier league

Butali Warriors are leading the roaster with an eight point lead ahead of Western Jaguars. Butali still have three more games to play while Jaguars have four more games. Kenya Police are third with 28 points and four more games to play. In fourth place is Wazalendo with four points behind Kenya police followed closely by Sailors in fifth with 20 points. Two points behind is Strathmore University with 18 points. USIU-A are the only team in the league who have played more games (16) and are seventh on the roster with 17 points. Greensharks are just above the relegation zone (7th) with four more games to play and 16 points in the bag. Parkroad Badgers still have a chance to escape the relegation zone if everything goes there way. They are ninth in the league with 7 points and four more games to play. Mombasa Sports club on the other hand can only manage to get a maximum of fifteen points hence are relegated to the Super league. They have played fifteen games so far and only managed to get six points.

Premier League Ladies

Strathmore University on Saturday managed to beat their rivals USIU-A in a six goal thriller derby at City park. This win ensured that they were crowned as Premier League champions with two more games to play. They managed to get 28 points which is 7 points more than second placed Lakers Hockey club. Lakers have already played all their matches and would be waiting for a new season to begin. Blazers are third on the roster with 17 points and two more games to play meaning that the can potentially finish second if they win those games. USIU- A are fourth with 10 points and three more games left for them to play. If they win all there remaining games they will be guaranteed to finish fourth on the roster. DFG Wolverines are fifth with seven points and two more games to play. They are followed closely by Amira Sailors who have five points and just above the relegation zone. They are still in a relegation battle with last placed Sliders Hockey club who also have five points but with a lesser goal difference. Amira sailors have two more games to play while Sliders have three more games to play.

Super league Men

Sikh Union have managed to lead the Super league for most of the season but they still are on a race to clinch the title against their rivals KCAU who may be assumed to be on the back foot but still have a chance. Sikh Union have managed to collect 48 points from 19 games. They have three more games to play need to win at least two games in order for them to clinch the title. However, they are guaranteed to be promoted to the premier league. On the other hand, KCAU have managed to garner 39 points from 17 games. This means that they have five more games to play and need to win all their games in order to win the league. Wazalendo Masters are third on the roster with 28 points after twenty game with two more games to play. Kenyatta University are fourth with 26 points after playing only 16 games. Mvita XI are fifth after playing 18 games and managing to get the same points as KU but losing out in goal difference. Parklands are sixth after managing to get 23 points after 19 games. They are followed closely by Nakuru Hockey club who are only two points behind after sixteen games. JKUAT are eighth with 18 points, just a point above Multimedia University who are ninth and both these teams have played 17 games. Kisumu youngsters are just above the relegation zone with 13 points after playing only 15 games. Youngsters are only a point above Parkroad Tigers and TUK who still can save themselves. Parkroad are above TUK by goal difference after both teams managed to play 18 games.

Super league ladies

Kenyatta University ladies have already been crowned the Super league champions with only one game remaining for them to play therefore they earn a spot in the premier league next season. They managed to stay unbeaten for the whole season and garnering 31 points which is 8 points more than second placed UON. UON still have two more games to play and only need one win in order for them to seal their name in second place. Mombasa Sports Club are third after playing ten games and managing to collect 18 points. JKUAT are fourth in the roster after playing only nine games and managing to get 9 points. They are followed closely by Vikings hockey club who only have one more game to play and managed to get eight points after 11 games. Two points behind is Nairobi chapel who still have two more games to play. In last place is Multimedia University with only five points after 9 games played.

National league – Eastern Zone

Daikyo are the eastern zone league leaders after being unbeaten for the whole season. They have managed to get 39 points after playing 15 games and having only one more game to play. In second place is UON who have played only 12 games and managed to get 30 points. They are followed closely by Mombasa west who only have one more game to play and managed to get 29 points. Impala are fourth with 20 points after 14 games, two points above fifth placed Gorillas who have played the same number of games as Impala. In Sixth is Daystar University, the varsity side have managed to get 15 points after playing 15 games. Nairobi Chapel are seventh on the roster after 13 games and managing to get only 9 points, just a point above Thika rovers who are eighth after 12 games. Last position is held by Karate Axiom who have managed to win only one game out of fourteen, losing the other 13.

National league – Western Zone

Blue pirates are currently at the helm of the league after playing all their 12 games and managing to get 23 points. Pirates however might be dethroned by the University of Eldoret if the varsity side manage to get a win out of the two games that they still have to play. UOE are just a point behind the league leaders. In third place is Kitale Hockey club who have two more games to play and 17 points. Bay club are fourth with 15 points two points above fifth placed Kisii Falcons. Both teams have a game to play before the league ends. Bungoma Farmers are sixth with 8 points and two more games to play. Last place is occupied by Nandi Hawks who have played all their games and managed to get 7 points.
