Sunday 25th September 2022 Matches Preview.

As the weekend curtain draws today, 8 matches are scheduled to be played in the 3 cities (Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu.) 5 matches will be played in Nairobi, 2 in Mombasa, and 1 in the lakeside city of Kisumu.

Premier League

Ladies

6th placed Lakers host, current league leaders Strathmore Scorpions at 9 am at the Sikh union grounds in Kisumu City. The Lakers will be playing their 4th match while the scorpions will be playing their 5th. The 2 sides have met only twice and this will be their 3rd time. The Lakers won at home the last time they met in 2019 in a match that ended 3-2. Strathmore has a clean sheet so far in this league.

2nd placed Blazers play Amira Sailors who are at the bottom of the log at 3 pm in Nairobi. The African queens who climbed to 2nd after winning against DGF Wolverines are seeking to get a maximum of 6 points this weekend to claim their position at the top of the log.

Men

There is only 1 men’s premier league game on Sunday pitting 4th placed Wazalendo and current league leaders and defending champs Butali Warriors. The Warriors are looking to maintain the lead while Wazalendo is looking to be the 1st team to beat them this season. Wazalendo however has a big task ahead because they have had 3 draws in their last 3 matches. A match against the warriors will not be easy since their worst result is a draw against Police and Western Jaguars away.

Super League

Men

Wazalendo Masters host Mvita XI in the early kickoff match in the capital city. The 2 sides drew 1-1 in Mombasa. Mvita has lost their last 3 matches while masters have had 2 draws and 1 win.

Parklands Sports Club will play against JKUAT (Wild Cats) at 1 pm at the same venue. In the last 3 games, both sides have had 2 losses but Parklands Sports Club has a win while JKUAT had a draw. The Wildcats won the last time they played against Parklands by a goal.

Ladies

KU is back from their break and faces JKUAT at 11 am at City Park. KU has won 3 times since 2016 against their main university rivals. JKUAT last beat them in 2017 5-0.

National League Men – Eastern Zone

Mombasa West who drew yesterday against Nairobi Chapel plays Thika Rovers who lost against Daikyo Heroes. West beat rovers 1-0 away in Nairobi in their 1st leg match.

Nairobi Chapel faces off with current league leaders Daikyo Heroes at home. Daikyo will be looking to keep a clean sheet against the chapel after beating them in the 1st leg 3-0.
