6 teams from the coast have confirmed participating in the inaugural Mombasa County Hockey Association (MCHA) Mtaani Beach Hockey Festival. The teams include Likoni Sharks, K Town Pirates, Bamburi Mafia, BOC, Magongo Finest, and Island.
The tournament is envisioned to be a start tomorrow at the Nyali Barracks Beach, Off Mount Kenya Road in Mombasa’s Nyali area.
“This is more of pilot then we will integrate it to National level once we have proper infrastructures”

Hockey missed out on being part of the National Beach Hockey Games and the African beach Hockey games that were recently held in Tunisia.
However, MCHA are looking forward to be a part of the team in the next round of National and International Beach disciplines. Internationally, the World Beach Hockey Federation is at its inception stage and we believe Africa and Kenya will have representation at the right time.
