It’s all systems go for the 1 day Mombasa County Hockey Association (MCHA) which will be held today 19th June 2022. A total of 14 teams will be taking part in the tournament which will kick off at 10 am. Except for Kenya Police, the rest of the teams taking part are from Mombasa.

Each team will comprise 5 players for any match including the goalkeeper and at least one lady playing at all times, plus 4 subs. The duration pool matches will be 10 minutes straight without halftime changeover. The duration of knock-out matches will be 7 minutes per half straight changeover without a halftime break.
Hockey5s is a super-fast, highly skillful, short format of hockey that is designed to be adaptable to multiple surfaces, environments, and spaces. Hockey5s is an invasion game played between two teams with 4 field players and a goalkeeper.
Parklands Sports club emerged as the winner in 2019 while Mvita Marines were runners-up. Speaking on The Hockey Republik on Wednesday, MCHA President, Oliver Mascarenhas thanked this year’s sponsors Betterby Limited, DTB, Neptunes Hotel, and Daikyo for coming on board.
